” Somewhere I read 12 liters which is an absolute joke.”

I’ve read the same and hope that was just a typo in their spec sheet. That would be a bonehead move otherwise for such a bike unless they miraculously figured out how to make this 150 HP beast get 70 mpg or so.

Are those 17/19 wheels? With 110/150? Or perhaps 120/170? They look more traditional and dirt’ish than other nakeds’

The old air-cooled Scrambler looked better I think. Something seems off with this one, not that I dislike it. It probably looks better in person. Nice bike. It needed the power boost, IMO.

I believe I read elsewhere that the wheels are 18″ rear and 19″ front.

Coming from a (extremely happy) 2017 Triumph T100 owner…

The new forks and brakes will be appreciated!
I don’t know why Street Twin/T100/T120 doesn’t get switchable ABS, it’s the same bike (All I want is to trail brake into turns 😐 )
I think the redline being 500+ RPMs is funny as the power plummets after 4K
MCN said “clock upgrade” wow an engineer actually thought it was a good idea to give a 12hr option mode!? CRAZY!

No LED headlamp?

360′ crank also on the wish list.

Still amazing bikes. I’m super happy with mine. Except for that wrench icon that is not deletable by owner.

The only thing these bikes have going for 'em is the use of cast wheels with tubeless tires. Otherwise, Pffffft! Tiny tanked with a single disc up front and did I mention the tiny tank? Those that "defend" the use of a puny fuel cell doubtless do so because they're the motorcycling equivalent of the "Social JustUs Warrior™", i.e. "every bike is special". Of course they don't buy anything, least of all a bike that they "feeeeeel" so close to. So much so that they just "love it!". The bikes look nice but looks ain't everything. All riding is a form of touring. Looks won't get you to the next town. Fortunately as the fuel is used the bike gets lighter making it easier to push to the next town. Genius Triumph engineering, there lads!

Not complaining because I stated how happy I was with them and what amazing bikes they are. Critiquing, yes. If nobody spoke up, half the innovations in bike development wouldn’t exist or at least be delayed a few years.

And my 79 Yamaha XS650F was the nicest engine I’ve ever ridden. 360’ crank, smooth, powerful throughout revs. Could probably keep up with my 900.

The 270’ is not bad at all, and I have never ridden a Triumph with 360’ so I can’t say for sure. But Yamaha had it dialed.

Go sit on a GSX-1000 (regular or F) and you should have your answer.

This is based on the critically praised GSX-1000.

What about it makes you think this will be a “Kan of Tuna”?

Seriously. It feels like diesel power. Quick bursts from 2000-4000. Nothing much after that!

I’d say that front tire is a pretty standard 120/70. 180/55 on the back. I believe the black rim contrasted by the silver spokes contributes to the illusion that the tires look a little more balloonish than they actually are.

That’s not a beak. See the original ’82 Kat for the reference.

correction: it’s “GSX-S1000F”.

this was inspired by a styling exercise based on that bike, which is pretty much how the original Katana happened (GS1100E if memory serves).

They only use the remote reservoir on models with the radial master cylinder ( I.E. Cafe Racer). When it comes time to rebuild them/replace seals it is alot easier. Also you can get more braking force with that design because you dont have to worry about the extra bulk, complication and casting required to integrate it.

“So, 28 years of technology yields more power, better mileage, far better drivability”

No, twice the displacement tuned for go-kart power (relatively speaking) is how Triumph achieved that.

Why do all these new bikes have that piece of garbage hanging over the rear tire??? Who thought that was a good idea?

While not much has changed over the years, it’s still the best bang for the buck out there.
Particularly the GSX-S1000
